This article is a bit different than the other articles you’ll find on my blog. Over the years I’ve tried to help other parents, and preemie parents, in similar situations to mine, by sharing everything I’m learning along the way.
And, even though I’m so honored and happy to have reached so many people, I have to admit I believe you’ve all helped me more than I could have ever dreamed of helping you. It’s through this blog I found out the kind of mom, and person, I wanted to become.
So I took a small break to take the steps to do just that.
We have a lot to catch up on, you and I.
Over these past years, I kept in touch with the video game industry, while making the transition to becoming a full-time writer. I now write fiction and non-fiction, and I’ll publish my first e-book right here on my blog next month.
We also bought a house in the suburbs of Barcelona, Spain. And we made it into two apartments, my parents live in the bottom apartment, and we live in the top one.
Ollie has thrived. A few years ago he was diagnosed with signs of ASD, and we have been navigating the waters with him, he has gone above and beyond our wildest dreams. He’s now in kindergarten, reading at an advanced level for his age, and has a wide variety of extracurricular activities, among which are tennis, drawing, theater, music, and violin.
He wants to be a violinist when he grows up, and he begged me to sign him up for violin class last year, so we did. Today he’s a happy and healthy 5-year-old, who loves playing with his friends, reading, playing video games, and his violin.
As for my blog, I’ll start updating again with everything I’ve learned so far, with the hopes of helping you just like you’ve helped me become who I am today.
Life is not perfect, we have some struggles, right now, losing weight is one of the big ones, and getting over my fear of flying is a close second! (Oh, and I also tried to run a half marathon but couldn’t finish, so there’s that as well!) But we make the most of it! We are enjoying life, not in a toxic-super-positive way, but in a real and raw way.
Let’s get this party started again! I’m sharing some pics of us with you so you know where we’ve been!
